The government has not set the status of a national disaster of the eruption of Merapi. Nevertheless, the effort has involved the handling of the disaster of national resources.
"Oh no (not yet established a national disaster). Although basically a national've got a national treatment," said Coordinating Minister Agung Laksono, Perdanakusumah Halim Airport in Jakarta on Thursday (11/11/2010).
Agung said that when asked whether it is necessary determination of the status of national disaster for the eruption of Merapi.
According to Golkar politicians, since the inception of the eruption of Merapi, until now, the central government
already jumped into the field. The central government and local governments in the region held a range of emergency response operations.
"In fact, right now the Head of National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) which mengkomandoi assisted by the local governor," he added.
Support of central government funds channeled through BNPB also quite large. Great sure it will be sufficient funds to finance emergency operations complained of thinning by local governments.
"But local government will still provide the allocation, places, ideas and enough energy," said Agung.
